Sachin Tendulkar retires from ODI cricket

One of the greatest batsmen of cricketing history retires today at the age of 39 years and 243 days from ODI cricket. I exactly do not find any adjective to describe his contribution to the Indian cricket. No any batting records are there to break by the cricketing legend and all time best batsman Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar. The cricketing legend stated his ODI career in 1989 December 18 playing with Pakistan at Gujranwala, he faced just two ball and become the victim of Waqar Younis, that time around nobody may have thought he will be the man to break all batting record and score 18426 ODI run, playing 463 matches, at a average of 44.83 and rule the batting world for 20 year continuously.  He finishes his career playing last game also against Pakistan at Dhaka in March.
Lets talks about his records in ODI
  • Highest ODI run in ODI 18426
  • Matches Played: 463
  • Consecutive ODI appearances: 185
  • First to appear in 400 innings in ODI matches.
  • Sachin Tendulkar First player to reach 10,000-11,000-12,000-13,000-14,000-15,000, 16,000 and 17,000, 18,000 ODI runs
  •  Most centuries: 49
  • Most Fifties: 96
  •  Most number of nineties in the ODI
  •  Highest run scorer in the world cup - 2560 runs at an average of 56.95
  • Only player to be in top 10 ICC ranking for 10 years
  •   Most ODI Man of the Match Awards: 62
  •  Most Man of the Series Awards: 15

Cricket Development a need of our Country

Nepal a real paradise, a god gifted nation with full of natural heritage, cultural heritage and rich in its   religions, cultures and traditions, the land of Gautam Buddha and roof of the world Sagarmatha is a living heaven and center of tourism.  Many sports are played in the country and popular among them are Cricket and Football.

Cricket one the popular sport in the country and a sport which is supported by millions of people all around the nation. If any international cricket game played in the country, thousands of fans are there in the ground and if Nepal is playing we can’t imagine the crowd and atmosphere in the ground, it’s simply unbelievable. The craziness is not limited to ground, thousands of fans are updating the game through internet and many web portal when they are not able to observe the game live in the ground. Thousands of youngsters are attracted to the sport although there is not a standard career in it.

Our country still have chance to qualify for 2014 Twenty20 World Cup in Bangladesh and 2015 ODI World Cup in Australia. Equation for Nepal to qualify for Twenty20 World Cup in Bangladesh 2014 is very simple as first they have to finish top four at  ACC Twenty20 Cup which will be held in our own country and qualify for Twenty20 World Cup Qualifier in UAE and finish in top six in this tournament to qualify for Twenty20 World Cup in Bangladesh. Road to T20 world cup is difficult but not impossible. And for 2015 World Cup, first Nepal has to finish in top two in Division 3 leagues and qualify for the World Cup qualifier in UAE and finish in top two there to qualify for ODI World Cup 2015 in Australia and finish in top four to get temporary ODI status. If our players get continuous exposes, the dream of World Cup can be a reality.

Being a fan and seeing the achievement and performance of our team in few recent years and the facilities they are getting is humiliation of their achievement and their performance. My question is “Can’t government provide facilities and salaries to the player as a government employee”, aren’t they serving the nation…. Then why can’t government serve player as higher level government officer and provide the salary and other facilities..? If government provide proper facilities to the cricket player then surely people see career in it and cricket will certainly develop as well as it aid to solve unemployment problems. Parents will freely let their children to play and involve in cricket if there is career in it and it will surely benefit cricket.

A international cricket stadium is a most in our country, as few international cricket stadium, couple of international matches will certainly increases the flow of tourist in our country which will flourish the  tourism industry, increase government revenue aid a lot in country development  solving unemployment problem directly, increasing per capital income and improving living standard of people.

Development of cricket, a few international standard cricket stadiums and proper facilities for cricket player is a need of our country at present, so I kindly request respective bodies to think about it and prepare plan and implement them with ease.  The   Government and political parties must think about it as it benefit them as well, as cricket supporter are in great number in our country and the government and political party will surely benefited by attracting  the votes and support  of all cricket fans  if they work on the proposal of cricket development. So I request and wish government and political parties will certainly work about the plan of cricket stadium, and providing proper facilities and respect to the cricketer. It’s not the request of mine but the request of millions of cricket fan all across the nation; let’s hope within few years there will be few international cricketing stadium and career in cricket for all cricket player. Jay Nepali Cricket.

Nepal’s Road to T20 World Cup 2014 in Bangladesh

The ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier is a gate way for Nepalese Team to qualify for the T20 World Cup which will be held in Bangladesh in 2014 where 16 teams will play each other for the championship. Out of the 16 teams in T20 World Cup, 10 teams will be full ICC Member and other six teams from ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier.

The country to play T20 World Cup 2014 in Bangladesh is:
1.     Australia
2.     Bangladesh
3.     England
4.     Pakistan
5.     South Africa
6.     India
7.     Srilanka
8.     West Indies
9.     New Zealand
10.  Zimbabwe
11. Six teams from T20 World Cup Qualifier( Nepal should finish at top six at world cup qualifier to qualify)

The world cup qualifier will be played in United Arab Emirates in 2013 October where sixteen teams will play against each other to be selected in top six and qualify for World Cup T20 in Bangladesh.

Nepal will first play first ACC Twenty20 Cup which will be held in Nepal where 10 teams will play each other and top two i.e. Finalist teams will qualify for ICC Twenty20 World Cup Qualifier in UAE ( Afghanistan has already qualify as a ODI nation, so if Afghanistan make it to the Final, then top three teams of the tournament will qualify for ICC T20 World Cup qualifier), from which six teams will qualify for Twenty20 World Cup in Bangladesh 2014. The chances of Nepal to qualify for Twenty20 World Cup is high as Nepal has finished in 7th position in prevision edition of Tweanty20 World Cup Qualifier from where just two teams qualify for the Twenty20 World Cup in Srilanka 2012 but in 2014 there will be sixteen teams and six teams will be selected from Twenty20 Qualifier.

Hence, equation for Nepal is very simple as first they have to finish top four at  ACC Twenty20 Cup which will be held in our own country and qualify for Twenty20 World Cup Qualifier in UAE and finish in top six in this tournament to qualify for Twenty20 World Cup in Bangladesh. Road to T20 world cup is difficult but not impossible but the question is can our team perform at high level with tough teams in pressure situation ? Hope our teams existing form continue and qualify for Twenty20 World Cup in Bangladesh in 2014.
